Inside Out 1 & 2

Both movies put Riley's emotions on screen as named characters, giving students a concrete vocabulary for feelings that carries directly from one movie into the next. The first movie establishes Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust and the argument that every emotion serves a purpose, and the second builds on that same system two years later, when puberty introduces Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui and forces Riley's emotional headquarters to adapt. Watching the first movie alone gives students the original five emotions and Riley's move to San Francisco, but leaves out how that same system gets tested again as she grows older.

2 guides, designed to work in sequence. Across the bundle:

  • Differentiated comprehension question sets with answer keys
  • Storyboard and synopsis task
  • Emotion character worksheets
  • Discussion questions
  • Collaborative emotion poster
  • Class presentations

Full details on each guide's page. The two guides work well as a dedicated two day unit, with one movie and its guide completed per session.
